ACC’s athletic program provides scholars with access to sports and active living. Playing sports is a way for scholars to exercise, learn a sport and develop their untapped talents and reap many health benefits.
Some of the health benefits of playing sports include the efficient functioning of the heart, controlled diabetes, lower cholesterol levels, improved blood circulation, lower hypertension, and lower stress levels. It helps in weight management, the toning of muscles and the strengthening of bones.
In Fall of 2016 ACC created its first soccer team under the leadership of coach Abraham Garcia. The team competes in a charter school league with schools from both Minneapolis and St. Paul. ACC’s athletic program will incorporate other sports; basketball, and volleyball.
