In the fall ACC Kindergarten scholars began learning to play the violin. This journey started with violins made out of cart board. Now they are using real violin to learn Suzuki lessons. ACC is partnering with the St. Paul Conservatory of Music to provide violin lessons to ACC’s Kindergarten scholars twice per week.

ACC Tech Inventory to SELL
Dear parent and guardian,
Tomorrow is the day without immigrants. Several people will protest peacefully and others will choose not to go to work. Academia Cesar Chavez (ACC) will be open and there is school for all scholars. Staff will reflect about the day without immigrants and discuss with their scholars what this means for the community, the economy and families. While we support peaceful protesting, and stand in solidarity with peaceful protesters, we will be open to serve our scholars.
Dear staff, parent and guardian,
The purpose of this message is to inform you that school will be back in session tomorrow 1/26/2017. Our boiler has been fixed and we have a warm building. We are looking forward to seeing our scholars back tomorrow 1/26/2017. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused your family. Si se puede.
It is winter in Minnesota. Are you prepared for a school closing, late start, or early dismissal due to bad weather?
Academia Cesar Chavez will do our best to make a decision about a late start or school closing by 5:30 a.m.; early dismissal and decisions regarding afterschool and evening athletics, events and activities will be made by 12 p.m.
Academia Cesar Chavez communicates a school closing, late start or early dismissal by:
- Automated phone call to staff and families
- Web posting to www.cesarchavezschool.com or ACC’s facebook page
- Communication to local TV Channels 9, and 11
- Parent can contact the school by calling (651) 778-2940
If school must close early, buses will take home regular riders. Other scholars will wait for parent pick up. Scholars will remain at school supervised until they are picked up by a family member.
Academia Cesar Chavez is in contact with the National Weather Service, Monarch Transportation, and leaders from other school districts to provide the best response to keep scholars and staff safe in severe weather conditions.
Academia Cesar Chavez will not communicate that school is open as scheduled. If a school closing, late start or early dismissal is not announced, staff and scholars should attend as usual.
100% board participation
Have you been looking for a simple way to say thank you to ACC’s school board members? The board of directors of Academia Cesar Chavez deserve a heartfelt thank you. We reached 100% board participation in this year’s fund raising campaign. All the board members donated raising a total of $765. This amount was matched and brought the total to $1530. ACC board members are leading by example and contribute to support the education of our scholars.
I am proud to have a supporting board of directors that is actively engaged in the work at ACC. They always show up for board meetings and committee meetings every month. They ask reflective questions and support the work that we do as an organization. Our board members offer their support, ideas and solicit help from the community. Some board members have recruited non-board members to participate on board committees. Others have made recommendations and introduced ACC to other organizations to develop a partnership. I appreciate the connections that every board member is making for ACC.
Please join me to say thank you to each board member. Go on the ACC website www.cesarchavezschool.com; click under the contact us tab and select board. Take a few minutes and send an email to two board members and thank them for their service. Happy New Year.
